iPhone May Not be Banned in US

Motorola’s second lawsuit against Apple threatened to ban the sale of the iPhone and iPad within the United States. However, the ITC has partially cleared the latter in the lawsuit.

The Google-owned handset manufacturer filed a case against the iOS firm with US International Trade Commission saying that the company infringed several patents belonging to Motorola pertaining  to wireless technology.

Apple, though, was found to not violate two of the patents. In addition, the ITC has reversed a previous ruling that found the world’s most valuable company guilty of infringing a 3G-based patent Motorola owned.

Samsung’s court case against Apple recently came to a close with the court finding the former guilty, as well as awarding Apple over $1 billion in damages.
