A new jailbreak tweak fixes the age old problem of the iPhone’s notification bar disappearing when the app switcher is open.
When Apple introduced its app switcher, a swipeable list of apps that raise up from the bottom, for whatever reason they decided to make the notification bar disappear. While this function only proves to be a minor frustration, it was frustrating enough for jailbreak developers to work up the aptly named App Switcher Status Bar tweak for jailbroken iPhones running iOS 4 or greater.
The tweak makes the notification bar appear in the App switch menu when it fades from the top of the screen so users can still see their notifications while they swipe through their recent apps.
The tweak does not affect the notification bar’s default position though, so those worried about losing access to the notification bar while not app switching need not worry. The tweak merely makes sure the notification bar is accessible at all times. The tweak is available on Cydia’s ModMyi rep for $.099.
