The iPhone 5 32Gb and 64GB models are being discontinued at Canadian network carrier Telus, leaving smartphone owners with a rather limited selection of choices this month.
According to Mac Rumors, the discontinuation of the models will get underway beginning September 28th, eight days after the suspected launch of the new iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C.
So what prompted for the discontinuation of the mid-tier iPhone 5 units? Well, it comes courtesy of a leaked image from Telus, but no one knows if other iPhone 5 units will be discontinued at a later date. It could be that they’re axing out the lower-selling units of the iPhone 5?
For now, everyone is focusing on clearing out stock and prepping for the immediate consumer storm of sales when the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C launches, arriving after their announcement date on September 10th.
