Apple has updated the look of the App Store with an interesting card-based search result system.

The news of this comes from iDownloadBlog who, while demoing the iOS 6 beta, found that the app store has new look when searching. The update to the app store just came recently and we’ll be the first to say that the new card system, while completely different than we are used to, looks absolutely wonderful.

The new layout is a departure from the iOS 5 version of the app, which shows all of the search results in a list. With the new card system, a user can see more information about the app and quickly install it without going into an additional menu. Both the iPhone and the iPad are affected by this update.

While the card system does show more information on each result, there is no “results list,” so to speak, so a user is forced to swipe through each card to find the app they want – or at least they have to if they are using an iPhone. The iPad version shows a much more robust view of multiple cards, making it a little easier to peruse the results.
