The New iPhone Confirmed

New images show that the iPhone 5 that everyone so anxiously anticipate may not be called the iPhone 5 after all, but rather take on a naming like that of the new iPad. The new iPhone may, in fact, be called “The New iPhone.”

A picture published by iPhonenieuwsblog.nl (via Tech Crunch) shows the packaging for the up and coming iPhone straight from the printing press, and the shows clearly “The New iPhone.” There is no numerical designation anywhere to be seen on the box as it was on previous generations.

We can’t say we would be surprised if this was reality rather than a mock picture to dupe the wildly excited consumer populous patiently awaiting the new iPhone. When the latest iPad was launched, the numerical differentiator of “3” was dropped from the name and the device was simply named “The New iPad.”

This all does raise the question as to why Apple’s official invite for the reveal of the new iPhone shows a shadow of a 5 cleverly built out of the number 12 though. We can’t necessarily say we know where this all will go. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Cant be true since the apple event graphic clearly shows a 5 under the twelve. So must be referring to iPhone 5. What other five is there?
