The video shows the iPhone 5 with futuristic features like wireless charging, fingerprint scanning, an upgrade to Siri that can automatically communicate with other smart devices, and “rubber-band electronics” that allows one to pinch and stretch the device itself. These features shown in the video are merely the working of a great imagination, but the technology that the video suggests does actually exist. Academic researchers have developed liquid metals and porous polymers that are capable of stretching in means similar to the video.
This kind of technology actually isn’t going to be in the iPhone 5, we already know that, but it is interesting to think that we could actually see something like this in devices in the future. We don’t know when this kind of dream could come true, but the possibility that it could actually be utilized is enough to get us excited.
