New pictures of the iPhone 5’s mini dock connector shows it mingling with its close relative, the micro USB.
The two connectors were taken together to show the size difference between micro USB and Apple’s new 9-pin connector that is to be used for the iPhone 5. The two cables look nearly the same in size, with the only difference being in the physical appearance of the head of the cables. The images come from popular leak site Nowhereelse.fr.
The new iPhone connector is double sided, small, and the connector on the iPhone is reported to have similar maglock technology to that of the Mac book. This means that, when connecting the cable to the iPhone 5, it can be facing either way and will very easily lock into place. There have been rumors that Apple will be releasing adapters for the new connector, so users can still work out a way to utilize their old connector cables.
