It seems every day some new image of some part of the iPhone 5 is revealed. This time it’s the battery’s turn.
The iPhone 4S is recognized frequently as a phone with a poor battery life. With the addition of all the new features for the iPhone 5 – larger screen, LTE-compatibility and faster processor – means that the battery would be a cause for concern.
9to5Mac has posted photos of the iPhone 5’s battery. In the images, we can see that the battery has a capacity of 1440 mAh (3.8V/1440mAh/5.45Whr), which is slightly improved, and with a higher voltage over the iPhone 4S’ 1430 mAh (3.7V/1430mAh/5.3Whr). Overall, it is a small improvement that may not be able to match with all the new features of the iPhone 5, but at the same time the new phone is going to be thinner and that along with a new chip could offset power consumption issues.
Additionally, it should be noted that the battery were manufactured in June which is right on schedule for the manufacture of iPhone 5 components to meet the phone’s release this September.
