Say Goodbye to iPhone’s Slide to Unlock Feature

by Ryan Wunderlich on

Seeing as how jailbreaking your iDevice seems to be not only popular but downright necessary for most users, we thought you might be interested to learn about a new tweak. The name of this tweak is Unfold. So what is Unfold, you ask? This slick little tweak allows you to change the Slide to Unlock feature on your iDevice. (Unfortunately, iPads are excluded from this list of devices).

Unfold essentially turns your unlock screen into an accordion page. In version 2.0, it also allows you to change the configuration in which you actually slide the unlock screen. When I first downloaded this tweak on my iPhone, it only had the option to slide the accordion style screen vertically. In version 2.0 you will be presented with several new options, including vertical sliding, how many slices you would like to appear when folding, and the ability to change the standard text (Slide to Unlock) to whatever you would like.

In terms of interface tweaks, I think this one is simply fantastic. The best part: It’s free. As many know, developers sometimes put price tags on popular tweaks, but thankfully for us jailbroken users, the developer of this tweak, Jonas Gessner, has put it up for everyone at no cost.

If you are interested in getting this tweak, it can be found in the BigBoss repository. Here is a video so you can see it in action.
