Youtube’s New Vertical Video Update

On July 23, Youtube released a new update for Youtube that now allows for viewers and users of iPad and iPhone to now watch videos filmed vertically in fullscreen playback. This update came out the day after the release of Android’s vertical fullscreen playback app for Youtube. This new feature puts ease on the viewer’s eyes as the screen is no longer flanked with letterbox sides, but the entire video. However, if you’re viewing the video in portrait mode, you may still get letterbox when viewing a vertical video, which is a small step in the right direction, and not nearly as annoying.

Also included in this update is the ability to turn on notifications, with the new feature of the push notification option, which now allows for you to receive updates and alerts from your favorite channels. To get this latest update, and many more, you can head over to Apple’s iTune store: Youtube app for iTunes and iPhone.
