iPhone 5 pre-order shipping times has slipped to 3-4 weeks due to high demand on the Apple online store.

The websites for US carriers of the iPhone 5, meanwhile, has also experience record pre-order demand with AT&T and Verizon changing delivery dates to two- three weeks. Shipment times for Sprint has also been delayed; the 32GB and 64GB versions have been delayed by only one week, though.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 had opened on Friday, with interest so high that Apple’s initial inventory was depleted within hours. The firm then responded to the demand by stating, “Pre-orders for iPhone 5 have been incredible. We’ve been completely blown away by the customer response.”

Apple releases the iPhone 5 in over 300 of their own stores this Friday at 8 AM in the US and UK.
