Sprint had discounted the iPhone 4 and 4S models in anticipation of the iPhone 5 launch, with Apple following suit with a price-matching offer. Various retailers are now following suit.
Target and Best Buy are adding their names into the hat offering discounts on previous model iPhones. Target is offering iPhone 4S for Verizon and AT&T carriers for $179. Best Buy, meanwhile has cut the price to the eight gigabyte iPhone 4 down to just $49, a $50 reduction.
Sprint, as previously reported, has dropped their price for the iPhone 4S to $149.
Also, a reminder that Apple is matching the prices of other retailers at their stores. Only the physical stores though, not their online store.
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5 at an event on September 12th and the release of the new iPhone is expected later that month on September 21st.
