SwipeSwitcher Adds 3D Touch Multitasking Gesture To Older iOS Devices

Want to use 3D Touch multitasking gestures on your older iOS device like the iPhone 4s, 5, or 5s? Well, know you can. Thanks to a new jailbreak tweak named SwipeSwitcher, you will now be able to use the exclusive iPhone 6s and 6s Plus features on your older iOS device.

SwipeSwitcher was specially made to bring 3D Touch multitasking gestures to older iOS devices. You might already know this, but the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus lets you touch the left edge of the screen to launch the App Switcher. This jailbreak tweak brings the same shortcut to older iOS devices, except invoking it will be a bit different.

Once installed on your iOS device, you can launch the App Switcher by swiping in from the left side of the screen. Usually, this would let you go back to the previous page of the app, but SwipeSwitcher splits the screen portion into two sections. This split view allows you to swipe in from the top left half of the screen to invoke the App Switcher, and from the bottom left half to go back to the previous page of an app.

The jailbreak tweak comes pre-configured when you download it from Cydia, so you don’t have to do any confusing adjustments in the preference panel. Lastly, this tweak enhances you multitasking experience while using older iOS devices, and requires iOS 9 to use it.

You can get SwipeSwitcher for free in Cydia’s BigBoss repo.
