iPhone 5 Will Allow You to Wake up to Your Favorite Song

One of the over 200 new features Apple is going to roll out with iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 is the ability to change the alarm clock application to play a song of your choice.

It isn’t brought up much, but this feature originally brought to light back in June of the beta could end up being very widely used. A study conducted last year by YouGov found that almost 60% of all smartphone users ages 16-34 use their phone as their clock. About 25% of those users saying they use it as their alarm as well.

The current version of the alarm clock in iOS 5 is limited to Apple’s pre-defined sounds or those purchases via iTunes, iOs 6 will allow the user to use any song in their iTunes library as a custom tune at no additional charge.

If the alarm plays the whole song it can also double as a timer for how long you have to get ready to go to work or school. Choose a long enough song and you will know how much time you have left by the song. Helpful hint.
