If you live in Pakistan and you’ve been highly awaiting the launch of Apple’s iPhone 5, take note that Ufone will officially launch a Nano SIM to enable Pakistanis to use the iPhone 5 carrier service.
The iPhone 5 prematurely became available in India not too long ago and users tried using older Micro SIM cards to no avail, given that Apple switched over SIM specs going from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5, using 0.67mm chips instead of 0.76mm, which are 12 percent thinner. Some users tried filing down the larger SIM to work with the iPhone 5 but not to much avail.
Luckily, thanks to Ufone, Pakistani customers don’t have to worry about modifying the Micro SIM for the iPhone 5 as they can pick up an official Nano SIM directly from Ufone.
According to Akbar Khan, chief marketing officer for Ufone, he stated that…
“Ufone takes pride in introducing the latest and most unique value-added services and the new SIM adaptation is the right move for the company’s growth strategy,”
“iPhone 5 will give a clear advantage to Ufone customers as they will be the privileged ones in Pakistan to enjoy iPhone way ahead of others.”
Ufone will be the first service provider to have Nano SIMs available for iPhone 5 users in Pakistan. The Nano SIM will be available at select customer service centers across Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
