New reports have surfaced claiming that the iPad Mini’s 7.85-inch LCD display screen is currently in production right now, ahead of a supposed October announcement and a potential November launch.
The rumor seems particularly solid given all the information gathered by Apple Insider, who managed to get their hands on photos of the purported 7.85-inch bezel for the iPad Mini. According to the sources, the screens are provided by LG Display and AU Optronics. The device will also come with a Nano SIM tray for potential carrier data capabilities.
The rumors of production are further verified by Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets who mentioned that the requirements from Apple to deliver the iPad Mini or iPad Air are extremely stringent, but that they will deliver and capitalize on Google’s 7-inch, Android-powered tablet.
According to iDownload Blog, rumors have spurred that Apple will make the announcement official next week on October 10th, just in time to launch a month later in order to capitalize on the holiday sales rush.
