Samsung has announced the Galaxy S III mini on Thursday. It is a 4-inch screen version of its larger compatriot the Galaxy S III. Previously, we reported on leaked rumors of the phone’s specs and they were pretty much on the mark.

Again, while not quite up to the iPhone 5’s spec, it still has it’s own virtues. The rundown:

  • Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
  • Dual-core 1GHz chip
  • 1,500mAh battery
  • 1GB RAM with 8 or 16GB of internal storage
  • Extra 32GB max storage via microSD
  • 5 megapixel camera capable of 720p video
  • VGA front-facing camera
  • Various radios including: 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.0

A price has not officially been revealed by Samsung as this time, but a pre-order entry on Clove, a carphone and mobile phone website,  has it at £298.80 including value added tax. Though the site also does state, “Official price and availability to be confirmed.”
