Older iPhones Still Selling Like Hot Cakes

Just because the new iPhone 5 has launched and has managed to move more than 5 million units right out of the gate, that doesn’t mean that Apple’s older models aren’t still selling and being used like hot cakes. In fact, new data from Verizon shows that all things Apple are still hot property.

According to All Things SD, Verizon revealed in their latest earnings report that in their third quarter they sold 3.1 million iPhones. Out of that 3.1 million only 650,000 were iPhone 5 handsets.

So what were the rest of the iPhones that Apple moved? They were iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S handsets. That’s right, just because the iPhone 5 is the latest and greatest hotness, Apple’s older phones are still kicking and screaming in the sales department, making up for 2.5 million of Verizon’s mobile iPhone sales.

The sales of the older iPhones actually beat estimates set by analysts who weren’t expecting the iPhone and iPhone 4S to move the amount of units that they did. It now looks like Apple is making tons of cash on both older models and their latest master/disasterpiece the iPhone 5.
