We all know that Apple’s mobile handset is one of the most popular electronics on the planet right now. Carrying an iPhone can net you some serious trouble, and that’s exactly what happened to Anthony Kuber, who was shot five times for his iPhone.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Kuber was coming home from the Red Line station in Chicago, Illinois when two robbers alleged came up to him asking for his iPhone and then knocked him unconscious, shot him five times and took his iPhone.
According to Anthony’s 57-year-old father, Martin Kuber, Anthony tried handing over his phone but was still shot anyway.
Police claim that Anthony was robbed near the Dan Ryan Expressway, where he was allegedly heading to his father’s house after leaving his fiance’s residence in Lincoln Park a few hours earlier.
Anthony Kuber managed to survive the attack but is in intensive care and may not be able to use his right hand again.
The two suspects have not been caught.
Always exercise caution when out in public with an iPhone, as some neighborhoods are very dangerous and iPhone theft is exceedingly high.
