Ming-Chi Kuo Predicts 10.5″ iPad Pro At 2017 WWDC

If you’re wondering what might be featured at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, the very accurate Ming-Chi Kuo has released a “2017 WWDC highlights” report that talks about a potential Siri speaker and a 10.5″ iPad Pro.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple will unveil its Siri smart speaker with a touchpad display at next month’s WWDC. Even though he strongly believes that Apple will unveil the speaker next month, it may not launch until later this year, giving developer enough time to build apps to support the new product.

“In our April 28 Insight report (“Apple’s first home AI product to see cyclical shipments of over 10mn units; main competitor is Amazon Echo”), we offered estimates for the new home AI/Siri speaker line. We also believe this new product will come with a touch panel.”

Aside from the major operating system updates such as iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, Kuo predicts that we could see a 10.5-inch iPad Pro similar to the 9.7-inch model except with a larger screen and smaller bezels.

“The newly designed 10.5″ iPad Pro will have a similar form factor to the 9.7″ model, but will feature a larger display thanks to narrow bezels. The new design should improve the user experience and help gain traction in the corporate/ commercial sectors. We forecast 10.5″ iPad shipments of 5.0-6.0mn units in 2017F, accounting for 15% of total 2017F iPad shipment.”

We’ll see how accurate Kuo is when the WWDC keynote¬†kicks off on Monday, June 5, at 10 am.

Meh, Samsung has already had 10.1″ Internet Tablets out for years. I always find myself buying Apple iPads/iPhones when they go bigger. I bought my 12.9″ iPad Pro when it came out, & I bought my iPhone 6 Plus when it came out too. You can’t get bigger on the iPhone, but you could go up to 15″ on an iPad Pro. That would be something else!
