Microsoft has quietly posted two new accessories onto its website, called the Modern Keyboard and the Modern Mouse, that were both built to visually match the company’s line of Surface products; while the keyboard is also designed to work with MacOS and iOS devices that support Bluetooth 4.0.
The Modern Keyboard has a low profile with an aluminum frame that Microsoft says is “virtually indestructible”, while still remaining sleek and thin at only 14.79 ounces. It also includes a rechargeable battery that can last up to two months on one charge, and a hidden fingerprint sensor located between the Alt and Ctrl keys, that allows you to unlock any Windows 10 device by pressing the Windows Hello.
And as far as the Modern Mouse features; it’s made out of similar metal material as the modern keyboard, and includes “premium precision point and clicking” according to Microsoft, and comes with AAA batteries with a battery life up to 12 months. However, the mouse is not compatible with MacOS devices like the keyboard, and can only work with Windows PCs besides Windows 7.
Both devices though are coming very soon going by the banner on their website page, but is still unclear when they’re exactly launching. Although when they do finally launch, the Modern Keyboard will go for $129.99 and the Modern Mouse will go for $49.99 in a standard color of light grey.
