Android Beats iPhone in OS Market

Share value is extremely important for any publicly traded company. The idea of owning market share value over a competitor in any related market field can turn the tide of success and long term revenue, especially when introducing a new device.

For Samsung, they have Apple beat when it comes to operating systems as Android has a higher OS adoption rate than Apple and the iPhone.

According to the Daily Mail three out of four of the world’s smartphones are running an Android OS.

The good news for Samsung (and bad news for Apple) doesn’t end there, though. What’s more is that IT research and marketing analytics firm Gartner shows that Android smartphones hold 72.4% of the world’s OS market share value. This is up from the 52.5% figure Samsung held just one year ago.
