According to the latest research firm Strategy Analytics, Huawei is moving fast behind Apple to gain second place in Smartphone profit.
Huawei is a Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment services company which has its headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The company is now reportedly in third place following closely behind Apple in sales profits for smartphones.
Richard Yu, the chief executive of Huawei made a comment back in late 2016, that his company would become the second largest smartphone company by 2018, his objective is to surpass Apple in smartphone sales. Well, according to the latest numbers being reported in the sales market, Huawei is trailing very closely behind Apple at this point.
According to Strategy Analytics report, in the second quarter of 2017, Samsung came in first with 79.5 million units. Apple came in second, reporting 41.0 million in its shipment of units for its second quarter of 2017, and Huawei came in third, reporting 38.4 million in its shipment for its second quarter of 2017.
Huawei is moving quite aggressively in gaining sales in the European region, while Apple has admitted the company is struggling to gain momentum in China profits against the Android population crowd.
