Apple’s iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and the iPhone 8 are all rumored to be the first iOS iPhone models that will feature wireless charging.
The rumors and talks are coming and flying fast about all the new features on the upcoming iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and the iPhone 8. The latest talk states that all three iPhone models will launch next month in September, but the iPhone 8 won’t be available until the fourth quarter of 2017.
Talk has it that all three iPhone models will sport the wireless charging feature, which requires a charging pad to be used. According to KGI Security analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple would use the standard that belongs to Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), this particular group supports the Qi wireless charging platform. Analyst Kuo also believes that Apple will make wireless charging an optional feature which could require purchasing accessories for the iPhone. If all these rumors are facts, it would support the rumor that Apple may use a glass back on the new phones not to block the necessary magnetic signals that are required when using a wireless charger. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the upcoming iPhone models which are due to debut in a matter of weeks.
