Can’t wait to get your hands on Apple’s iPhone X ( previously known as iPhone 8)? Well, if reports are correct, pre-orders for the flagship will start as soon as September 15, with shipments on September 22.
According to the German site Macerkopf, German carriers are preparing for a September 15 pre-order date as well as a September 22 launch date. If this is true, this will align with Apple’s previous September formula, which the company has been using for the past 5 years. During the iPhone 5 event held on September 12, 2012, its pre-orders started September 14 and the device launched September 21. The only iPhone that wasn’t available for pre-order was the iPhone 5s but that was due to supply constraints.
Below is a complete list of Apple’s pre-order and launch dates from the iPhone 5s to the iPhone 7.
- iPhone 5s (2013) – Event held on September 10, no pre-orders, launched September 10.
- iPhone 6/6 Plus (2014) – Event held on September 09, pre-orders September 12, launched September 19.
- iPhone 6s/6s Plus (2015) – Event held on September 09, pre-orders September 12, launched September 25.
- iPhone 7/7 Plus (2016) – Event held on September 07, pre-orders September 09, launched September 16.
This recent round of rumors seems to be plausible but we’ll know for sure next week when Apple unveils its three iPhones, an LTE Apple Watch and 4K Apple TV on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater.
