Today, Apple announced its next generation of iPhones named the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X at the Steve Jobs Theater located in the Apple Park campus.
In this article, we’ll talk about the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and all of their special features. The devices will sport Apple’s A11 Bionic chip which is Apple’s fastest chip ever made, this chip is 64-bit with two high performing cores that are 25 percent faster than the A10 Fusion chip found in the iPhone 7. Not to mention there are 4 high-efficiency cores that are 70 percent faster than the A10 chip and the GPU is 30 percent faster.
The device will sport an all new Retina HD display with True Tone, a wide color gamut, and 3D Touch. The 12MP camera has been improved to work even better in low light condition with improved noise reduction technology so your photos will look better than ever before. The iPhone 8 Plus has two sensors on the back that feature f1.8 and f2.8 apertures. Portrait mode has been updated to change the lighting effect on the subject’s face for more accurate lighting. In addition, there’s support for 4K/60fps video, and slow motion videos will be able to support 1080 resolution at 240fps.
Since the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have a new glass back design, it allows them to support wireless charging. Apple has decided to use Qi charging standard which means the devices should work with most third-party wireless chargers.
These devices have been designed for augmented reality with cameras that also support AR, and an accelerometer for better motion tracking.
Both devices come in two storage options: 64GB and 256GB. The 4.7-inch iPhone 8 starts at $699 for 64GB and the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus starts at $799 for 64GB. The devices ship in three color options: Silver, Gold and Space Gray.
