Apple is expanding its wireless payment service Apple Pay across the United Arab Emirates. The company has recently updated its website stating that Emirates NBD will soon offer Apple Pay.
The largest bank in Dubai, Emirates NBD, has confirmed in an email to customers (via MacRumors) that Apple Pay will be offered soon. In addition to Emirates NBD, other banks such as Mashreq Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank, Rakbank, Standard Charted and HSBC will also support Apple Pay in UAE.
Last month, Apple announced that Apple Pay would make its way to 3 other countries by the end of the year. Those countries included Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. So far, the web pages for those countries have yet to go live.
Over 3,000 banks bring Apple Pay to customers, Apple claims that its Apple Pay is the number one NFC payment service on mobile devices, with almost 90 percent of all transactions globally.
