How To Set Up Face ID On The iPhone X

If you were lucky enough to purchase the iPhone X, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to setup Face ID on the device.

After the device is booted and ready to go, you’ll need to open the Settings app on your device. Next tap on Face ID & Passcode, then tap Enroll Face and Get Started. The selfie camera will be activated at this point as well as the infrared sensor, you should see your face within a circle with green marks around it. You will have to move your head in a circle in order for the software to analyze and capture your facial characteristics. You can have the device always wake up and unlock whenever you pick up the device by enabling it ( go to  Settings > Display & Brightness > Raise). It’s important to note that your eyes have to be open whenever you want to unlock the device.

Apple made the setup for Face ID quick and easy for its users. If by any chance you want to disable the feature, don’t worry there are a few ways you can disable it. You can temporarily turn it off by rapidly tapping the side button on the iPhone X five times. Once the power off screen pops up, tap cancel. In order to re-enable Face ID, you’ll have to enter your passcode.

To completely turn FaceID off, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Use Face ID and then disable iPhone Unlock.
