The Loup Ventures Research group lined up Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant, and Microsoft’s Cortana, each one was put through a series of test. Under the query test, Siri scored last.
Loup Ventures Research group performed a series of comprehensive tests that included 782 queries, the Smart Speakers that were involved in this series of test were Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant, and Microsoft Cortana.
Under the query test, unfortunately Siri did not score well, in fact, out of 782 queries asked, Siri answered 52.3% correctly. The research group stated Siri scored higher (99.4%) in understanding the query, but couldn’t answer correctly. Google Assistant scored the highest in query category with a score of 81%, followed by Alexa with a score of 65%, and third was Cortana with a score of 57%.
The research commented that hands down HomePod was top-notch as the best sounding of the smart speakers, and when it came to asking “Local” queries this is where Siri scored the highest in the 52.3%. Matter of fact, in “Local” Siri scored higher than both Alexa and Cortana, but still fell behind Google Assistant.
Loup Venture believes Apple’s limited HomePod domains should change over time, improving more options and making it more versatile with other Apple products.
