Apple Plans To Celebrate International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day will be held this year on March 8th, and Apple is planning to be a part of it in more than one way.

Apple plans to incorporate a few special events on March 8th in order to celebrate International Women’s Day. Apple is planning to use iTunes, books, movies and TV shows to honor women with the theme centering on “strong women.” Under the movie category, look for “Jackie” starring Natalie Portman portraying Jacqueline Kennedy, also “Loving” starring Ruth Negga, portraying Mildred Loving, who fought the law in Virginia to stay in an interracial marriage, and the movie “Moana” an animation film centering on developing one’s own identity. For TV shows, Apple will center on shows like Scandal, Steven Universe, and Westworld, as well as highlighting women in different acting categories such as comedy, drama, and adventure.

The iBooks Store will promote books about women in the field of science, engineering, politics, and other fields. Books such as Hidden Figures, The Glass Universe, and the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks are just a few of many books that will be made available. Be sure to browse around to find some really good books about the accomplishments  of great women.

The company also plans to incorporate the Apple Watch by hosting Activity Challenges on the Apple Watch. The Activity Challenges is a way to help promote fitness as well as healthy living. Apple plans to offer Double Your Move ring on March 8th, the challenge for Double Your Move is to double your goal to unlock and receive achievement awards without lowering the users goal for that day.
