Samsung recently released the Galaxy S9 that comes with several new features like AR Emoji which is similar to Apple’s Animoji. If you’re interested in finding out which animated emoji is better, then read on.
Apple introduced its fun-loving animated emoji when it unveiled the iPhone X last September, the feature is exclusive to iPhone X users and allows them to choose from 12 (soon to be 16 when iOS 11.3 comes out) different characters. In order to create Animoji, Apple uses complex 3D sensors that are able to analyze more than 50 different muscle movements which can detect the user’s eyebrows, lips, eyes, jaw, cheeks and chin. This allows for the animated emoji to copy the user’s facial movements accurately.
The Galaxy S9 comes with its own version of an animated emoji called AR Emoji, which is slightly different from Apple’s Animoji. Unlike Apple, Samsung uses the front facing camera and an augmented reality software to copy the user’s facial expression. Even though the technology is advance, it isn’t as advance as Apple’s Animoji.
While AR Emoji fails at accurately picking up facial expressions, it does give users a lot more characters and Stickers to choose from. If you want to download more Stickers or remove them, all you have to do is tap the “+” icon.
So, which one is better? If you want something that offers a variety of customizable options, then AR Emoji is for you. However, if you want something that’s more accurate and advanced in technology, the iPhone X is the clear winner.
