A few days ago, Apple unveiled an updated version of its affordable 9.7-inch iPad which is geared toward those who are in the educational field. The new device is now available for purchase at local retail stores and can be ordered online.
So, what makes this iPad so special? This is the first non-iPad Pro model to feature Apple Pencil support, which means users can write quick notes or create art projects on the iPad using the Apple Pencil. In addition, Apple has given the iPad a speed boost by adding its super fast A10 chipset with 64-bit, a 40 percent faster CPU, a 50 percent faster graphics performance and a larger Retina display to enhance AR features.
The 9.7-inch iPad only cost $299 for teachers and students and $329 for consumers. Consumers can purchase the Apple Pencil separately for $99 or $89 for students and educators. The iPad comes in three color options: Silver, Space Gray and Gold.
The iPad is now available for purchase in more than 25 countries and will make its way to more countries in April and May. If you want to purchase the device, you can do so by heading over to Apple’s website or to your local retail store.
