The Steve Jobs movie with Ashton Kutcher in the lead role is finishing up production and has announced they will debut at the Sundance Film Festival.
At present there are two Steve Jobs films in production. The aforementioned indie film with Ashton Kutcher as Apple’s head honcho and a Sony project being written by Aaron Sorkin. The indie film, called jOBS (heh) is finished and is ready for primetime. It is set to debut at the Sundance Film Festival this January.
From the Film Festival’s press release:
jOBS / U.S.A. (Director: Joshua Michael Stern, Screenwriter: Matt Whiteley) — The true story of one of the greatest entrepreneurs in American history, jOBSchronicles the defining 30 years of Steve Jobs’ life. jOBS is a candid, inspiring and personal portrait of the one who saw things differently. Cast: Ashton Kutcher, Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons, Matthew Modine. CLOSING NIGHT FILM.
When the film was announced back in April there were some doubts about whether Kutcher could pull off Apple’s CEO. His performance is yet to be see, but damn it’s like seeing double.
