Apple’s music service Apple Music has officially surpassed 40 million paid subscribes. While that is something to celebrate, Apple is continuing to expand its service worldwide by promoting Oliver Schusser to lead Apple Music worldwide.
On Wednesday, Apple announced the promotion of Oliver Schusser to vice president of Apple Music & International Content. Schusser has been with Apple for some 14 years and has led efforts outside the Untied States related to the App Store, iTune’s movies, iBooks, Apple Podcast and more.
Now that he has been promoted, he will have to relocate from London to California and will continue to lead international teams in 38 different countries
So, who will take Schusser old job? Apple has appointed its marking executive Tracey Hannelly to lead International. Tracey Hannelly will have to report to Oliver Schusser while Schusser will have to report to Eddy Cue.
With these new changes, we’ll see if Apple can continue to grow its music service. Wall Street Journal reported that if Apple Music keeps its pace, it will surpass Spotify’s 70 million subscribers by this summer.
