First Alert OneLink Safe & Sound Detector Now Supports Smart Speakers

First Alert’s OneLink Safe & Sound smoke alarm/carbon monoxide detector now offers support for Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, and Google Assistant smart speakers.

OneLink new First Alert Safe & Sound smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector is an in-ceiling device that has been upgraded to now support smart speakers. The alarm detector is set-up to make your home safer by keeping you connected via app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. The home companion app allows you to test and silence your alarm, and control entertainment through your smart devices.

The Safe & Sound alarm does require AC hardwiring with battery backup, the HomeKit has connectivity to Alexa support, and also offers a customized adjustable night-light. The new line-up of Safe & Sound detectors will offer an upgraded model which is said to carry out all the normal functions of the regular First Alert smoke alarm/carbon monoxide but will have a premium home speaker with Alexa built-in, and reports are stating in the future AirPlay 2 is said to be coming as well.
