The Walkie-Talkie app is now available in iOS 12 beta 2, the new app allows the user to send and receive quick audio messages.
The Walkie-Talkie app allows the user to have real-time FaceTime Audio calls on the interface of the Apple Watch.
The bright yellow contact cards will appear when both parties open the Walkie-Talkie and tap a contact card, which will take the user to the yellow talk screen. The user can send a quick voice message and the recipient will hear a chime sound to indicate an audio message has been sent. When the recipient taps a button, he or she will automatically hear the message. To reply, the recipient taps and holds the Talk button and instantly the audio message is sent once the recipient releases the Talk button.
The volume can be adjusted from the talk screen by turning the Digital Crown up or down. For more private conversations, users can engage in Walkie-Talkie conversations using AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones or speakers. Currently, to end the audio call it takes about 5 minutes after each party stops sending messages. A report states that Apple is still tweaking with the timeout issue. The app can be used with Wi-Fi and cellular.
