Modojo has announced their first first-person shooter game for Apple’s iPhone and iPad called The Drowning. The game is set for release in 2013.
As reported by Business Insider, The Drowning is a first-person survival game that pits players against gross monstrosity of supernatural origin.
The game uses a brand new control scheme called “point-to-move” as opposed to the dual-analog approach.
Clive Downie, CEO at DeNA’s U.S. subsidiary, ngmoco, commented in the press release, saying…
“We’ve been at the forefront of innovation in free-to-play mobile games since the beginning, and we’re changing the definition of the space once again with The Drowning,”… “We can’t wait to give players a quality, hardcore FPS experience for their mobile devices.”
Hardcore games on mobile devices haven’t always rocketed to the forefront of the app charts, but a few have managed to the mobile market by storm. We’ll see how well The Drowning does when it launches in 2013.
