A sales representative at a Sprint store denied a man the sale of an iPhone 4 because he claimed that the customer’s fingers were too fat.
According to The Consumerist a consumer named Alex went to his local Sprint store to replace his broken mobile phone. What did he want to replace it with? An iPhone 4. However, things didn’t quite turn out the way he wanted.
According to the letter Alex wrote to the Consumerist…
The rep, [M], tells me that the iPhone 4 is free, so I said I’d take it. I was told to have a seat while the rep pulled up my information. The rep says “Are you sure you want the iPhone? It’s really a piece of shit.” I tell him yes, I’ve had iPhones in the past and I’ve done my homework about the possible phones I would be leaving with. Having been a Sprint customer for over 10 years, I feel I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to what Sprint has to offer.
When he asked the rep for an iPhone 4 replacement the rep told him “Your fingers are too fat for such a phone. You should get the Galaxy S III.”
Alex was so infuriated at the proposition of buying a different phone because his fingers were too fat, he told the rep off and left the store without a replacement phone.
