Initially, Vodafone sent out a warning about iPhone 4S users updating their operating system to iOS 6.1 because of some phone inhibiting problems that the phone encountered. Today, Vodafone has announced that it’s now entirely safe to update your iPhone 4S to iOS 6.1.
There were a number of issues that iPhone users encountered last week that nearly brought the smartphones to its knees. Vodafone issued a warning that iPhone 4S owners NOT download or update their OS to the latest iOS 6.1.1 release. Instead, they were advised to wait for a fix.
Recently, Apple issued a hotfix to patch the problem and today ZDNet has confirmed that Vodafone is now letting customers know that it’s safe to re-update to iOS 6.1.1.
The notice reads…
“Apple has released a new version of its iPhone software that fixes the 3G performance issues that have been affecting users of the iPhone 4S who had installed iOS 6.1,” … “Please download the latest version — iOS 6.1.1 — from Apple as soon as you can as this will deal with these issues.”
