The talk around the town lately has centered around an old patent from Apple that lends credence to the possibility that the iWatch is just around the corner.
According to iDownloadBlog, the old patent from 2009 has been surfacing in press recently because it mentions something about communicating GPS information from the iPhone to another device.
Many speculate that U.S. Patent No. 8,386,677 for “Communicating location information between a portable device and an accessory”, basically would see the iPhone being able to transmit specific data between a close-proximity device.
The GPS indicator could be useful for keeping your kids close by, getting alerts when someone arrives or other useful info and activities of the sort. Of course, this is just a patent that’s been sitting around for a while and does not, in any way, indicate any future plans for an iWatch.
