From October to January Apple did something that a lot of analysts probably didn’t expect: Apple whooped Samsung in market share with their smartphones.
A new report from research firm comScore has unveiled the three month percentages for the likes of Apple, Samsung, HTC and Motorola, to name a few.
The news comes courtesy of iDownloadBlog where Apple maintained 34.3 percent of subscribers from October and raised that bar by 3.5 percent in January, to 37.8 percent.
Samsung managed to go from 19.5 percent in October to 21.4 percent in January, gaining 1.9 percent over the course of three months.
Interestingly enough, the Android OS has control over more than 50 percent of the mobile market, with Google controlling 53.6 percent in October and 52.3 percent in January, losing 1.3 percent over the course of three months. Apple, on the other hand, gained 3.5 percent of the OS market share with iOS, moving up from 34.3 percent in October to 37.8 percent in January.
