If you like making video calls with friends, families or coworkers you have to sometimes deal with the low quality video either outgoing or incoming. Well, a new patent could fix that problem.

According to Know Your Mobile, they spotted the new patent filed by Apple that could potentially fix the lighting issues usually associated with video conferencing.

The patent points to technology that will automatically adjust the gradient levels of light and darkness of the video exposure in most live calls. The tech could make it more convenient to see someone on the other end of a call without having to manually adjust the lighting in the room or make any edits to the video settings in order to improve performance.

There’s really no way to know for sure if this kind of tech will be used in the upcoming iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, but given that improving the user experience is Apple’s endgame goal, it’s a pretty safe bet to presume that we may be seeing this tech applied sooner rather than later.
