Which mobile smartphone best suits your drop-friendly needs? In a recent, non-official, non-biased test conducted by a guy at Techsmartt, the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S4 were put through the drop-tests and one didn’t fare too well.
In a detailed write-up by Mashable, the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 are dropped from waist length, head length and finally at 10 feet. For the frist two, the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 handle the drop tests well, but by the head-length drop things get scuffy for the Galaxy S4, or should I say cracky.
While still functional, the Galaxy S4 garnered a spiderweb crack on the corner of the screen where-as the iPhone 5 only garnished some scuff marks on the outer case.
After rolling over the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4 with his car, it was found that the iPhone 5 was still functional thanks to a sleek, compact design. Samsung’s Galaxy S4? Not so much luck. The entire thing just got wrecked and by the end of the test it was completely non-functional.
