Walmart stores have dropped the price of the iPhone 4S like many other retailers and carriers in preparation of the release of the iPhone 5.
The announcement of the sale comes directly from Walmart’s facebook page (via 9to5Mac):
Amazing savings alert-starting on 8/23 at 9am local time, the iPhone 4S (16G) will drop to $148, down from $188! Select stores, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon customers, while supplies last, restrictions apply.
The sale bring the current generation iPhone to new low; $148 is lower than many other carriers or retailers can provide (save Sprint).
Of course, like the other sales, you’ll have to sign a two year contract or have the available credit with your carrier in order to get the iPhone 4S at such a low price. Those that are willing to settle with the current generation iPhone just one month before the new iPhone is released can run to Walmart now and pick one up.
